    Khemia Ensemble - Bite!

    INTERSECTIONS from the celebrated chamber group Khemia Ensemble invites listeners to meditate on the confluence of beginnings, endings, and experiences we undergo throughout our lives. The album features the music of living composers and speaks to our current moment of unrest and uncertainty. Bite!, a piece composed by Phillip Sink, uses music to express how simple words and phrases can sting—especially for those in marginalized communities. Little Clouds by Nicolas Lell Benavides is a tender lullaby Benavides wrote against the backdrop of the pandemic. By showcasing the music of five working composers, Khemia Ensemble demonstrates their commitment to reflecting broader perspectives in contemporary classical chamber music.

  • World-Premiere Recording of Price's Symphonies Nos. 1 and 4

    As concertmaster of the Fort Smith Symphony, Er-Gene Kahng performs on the orchestra's recording of Florence Price's Symphony No. 1 and Symphony No. 4 - the latter a world-premiere recording.

    The Fort Smith Symphony's Price cycle extended the revival that began with the violin concertos, documenting symphonic works that had waited decades for a commercial recording and bringing Price's orchestral voice to an international audience.
